I was born in Beverley, East Yorkshire
and graduated from Lancaster University in
1994 with a degree in English Literature. I
have exhibited my work professionally
throughout England since completing my
Master of Arts in Painting at York
University in 1999, organising exhibitions
in public and commercial galleries.
My career as an arts administrator has included managing community arts projects, exhibition spaces and craft workshops. I have invaluable experience working for Crescent Arts and Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre where I acted as a facilitator forging partnerships with community groups, arts organisations and local businesses through the promotion of art therapy, exhibitions and artist workshops.
In 2008 I relocated to London working for Coin Street Community Builders, a social enterprise in the heart of the South Bank and established a painting studio in Hackney. I run my London studio in tandem with a space on the Suffolk coast in Felixstowe's Artist Quarter.
My achievements include exhibiting at the Agora Gallery, New York in the spring of 2004, working with the British Red Cross in 2005 on their fundraising initiative 'Art for Humanity' and being shortlisted for the Higgins Homes Public Art Award in 2006.
My paintings are held in private collections throughout England including the Paintings in Hospitals Collection which contains works by contemporary and modern British artists.
